The Modern World

1. The world is currently in a world war. Inter-continental travel is forbidden, as is inter-country travel.

2. Because of the world war, the US government does little to nothing to ensure corruption and such does not happen in it’s cities.

3. The world is also in a serious depression, so 19 out of 20 people live in terrible poverty.

4. The world is supposed to end, since it is the year 2012. The world suffers from various biblical catastrophes. None of these terrible events occur in Bella.

5. Angels, Demons, and other supernatural beings inhabit the world.

6. Rev’Colu’s children rule the world. He chooses to reside in Bella to shield himself from reality.

7. Compared to the rest of the world, Bella is in good condition.

8. Gangs, as you know them, are only in Bella. Corporations and organizations run the majority of the world.

9. The majority of the world has a “Dark Overcast” over it. Little in known about this overcast, other than the obvious fact is blocks out the sun.

There are nine things about the modern world. I may add more to this later.

10. In the year 2009, a biological agent was made, that was supposed to make enemies attack their friends.
It worked. Unfortunately, not exactly like they intended. Those who became infected developed odd symptoms: constant itching, the skin dying still on their bodies, and an insatiable hunger.
Eventually, they were driven insane, and because attacking and eating their comrades. Those bitten who got away began developed the symptoms as well, continuing the cycle.
These people were called 'zombies' by the masses, and the name just stuck.

there was a thread about what people though was going to happen on 2012, since that's when the...Mayan (i think) calender ended.
