“Organized crime is the very essence of evil in Bella. One needs to be fully rid of such a thing before one can have a perfect city. Welcome to the world of A Heart’s Desire!

This story takes place in the city of Bella, a metropolis ravaged by organized crime and other undesirable aspects.

The current mayor is Mr. Grey, a man who never makes public appearances for reasons known only to him.

The current year is 2012, the supposed end of the world. This story does not focus on the demise of other cities, only that of Bella.

Everyone in Bella looks to organized crime as a means of survival and protection. If one does not participate in this practice, they are picked off by other gangs.

Also,

Bella is a fictional seaport located in East Virginia on the Win Dixie line. A mix of northerners and Southerners live here. Both groups consider themselves as somewhat of a serpate group even though they may be in the same faction together.

Poranium is the most highly used drug in Bella. It is not illigal.

Organized crime has influence on the highest level in Bella. The US government has little to no say in daily activities that occur in Bella.

Bella has a very dark setting, similar to that of Gothum City from the Batman franchise; Beauracrats, mobsters, lawers, and other higher peoples control daily activities and internal affairs of the city.

And,

Each gang has it's own "turf" that they have unquestioned control over. Only Lordist turf can be safely traveled through by other gangs.

In addition,

No gangs have been started for quite some time now.

People do not start clans and gangs in fear of being put to death for challenging organized crime authorities.

A few secret organization roam the city, but they are under the control of clans and gangs.
